Privacy
In short. There is no account and no server. Progress, settings and word lists live in the app on your device. We do not receive anything about your learning — there is nowhere to send it.
Lernoroo is a language-practice app that runs on your phone. It has no account, no server of its own and no analytics. This page explains what that means in practice, and it also names the two places where data can leave your device despite it.
Who is responsible for this
Lernoroo is made and run by one independent developer — not a company and not an organisation. For everything described on this page, the responsible party is the developer behind lernoroo.app, reachable at support@lernoroo.app. That address is the only channel: there is no support desk, no ticket system and nobody else who reads it.
What we collect
Nothing. Lernoroo has no user accounts, no sign-up, no profile and no backend to send anything to. We do not know who you are, that you installed the app, or that you opened it.
Where your learning data lives
Your answers, progress, streak, saved word lists and settings are written to the app's own storage on your device. They are not transmitted to us, and there is no Lernoroo server that could receive them.
The app contains no analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting or advertising software. This is enforced by an automated check in our build, not only by intention: the check refuses any dependency belonging to a known analytics, authentication or backend service, and reviews every permission the app requests.
Where data can still leave your device
We would rather state this than let you assume otherwise.
- Your operating system's backup. Android and iOS back up app data to your own cloud account by default. Lernoroo does not switch this on or off, and the copy goes to your Google or Apple account under their terms, never to us. You can turn device backup off in your system settings.
- If you email us. Writing to support@lernoroo.app means we see your address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to answer you and for nothing else.
A backup of your progress
The app can collect all your progress into a single file — “Save a copy” in the settings. Where it goes and who gets it is your decision; the file is never sent anywhere on its own. The reverse is “Restore from a file”: the file you pick replaces the progress on the device. No account and no cloud sync are involved.
Permissions the app asks for
Four, and no others. Vibration, for answer feedback. Billing, which the store component declares — this version offers nothing to buy, and voluntary support is not part of it. And two technical ones: network access, which the app framework requires, and a check of whether a connection exists, which the store component adds. The app itself makes no network requests of its own.
Children
Lernoroo is intended for ages 13 and up. We collect no data from anyone — adults, teenagers or children.
This website
lernoroo.app is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no advertising and carries no analytics. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses in order to deliver the pages and protect the service — that is a technical necessity of hosting, not a choice we made about you. Cloudflare is a US company and delivers the site from whichever of its locations is nearest to you, so this handling can take place outside the EU.
When you move the pointer onto a link, your browser may fetch that page before you click it, so that changing pages does not show you a blank frame. Those requests go to lernoroo.app and to nobody else, and they add nothing beyond ordinary lines in the server log — including, occasionally, a line for a page you decided not to open.
Your rights
There is exactly one situation in which we hold something about you: you wrote to us. Then we have your address and whatever your message contained. We keep it while answering you and for as long as the exchange might sensibly continue, and we delete it once it is plainly over. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering the mail we are sent — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — and the same basis covers the server logs described above.
For that correspondence you can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to our keeping it at all. Write to support@lernoroo.app and it will be done. Beyond that there is nothing to ask for, because your learning never reaches us: it is yours, uninstalling the app removes it from the device, and the app's settings reset progress at any time.
If you believe your data was handled wrongly, you can lodge a complaint with the data-protection supervisory authority of the country where you live or work.
Changes
If Lernoroo ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first.
Lernoroo is developed independently and is not a commercial organisation. It is free to use.
